The Department of Physics offers studies leading to the degree of Master of Science in Physics with research in astrophysics, atmospheric  physics, biophysics, condensed matter, computational physics, high energy and nuclear physics, materials and nanophysics, optics, and physics education. Through  a cooperative program with the Department of Geological Sciences, the Master of Science in Geophysics is offered. The department also participates in various interdisciplinary programs that can lead to a doctoral degree.
